What to Expect at Lifeguard Training

The intent of lifeguard training is to educate potential lifeguards in a severe training period to prepare them for their coming functions as lifeguards.

It is definitely beneficial that you become adept in emergency treatment, swimming, and CPR in order to prepare for lifeguard training.

Most lifeguard organizations put a great deal of attention on a lifeguard candidate’s swimming capability because it is one of the most important skillsets for a lifeguard.

Lifeguard prospects will cultivate many techniques throughout their lifeguard training. These abilities involve rescue methods, advanced or standard emergency treatment response, cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills, and other methods relative to their lifeguard environment. In addition to these techniques, lifeguards will be taught the drowning line.

Since lifeguards are often the primary responders to medical emergencies at water environments, it is important that lifeguards are fitted with the preparation and equipment to deliver a proper response. Depending on the lifeguarding setting, a lifeguard can be trained in full EMS or simply with primary first aid training.
